They Draw & Cook Winners Announced!
The California Dried and Fresh Fig Industry is pleased to announce the winners of the 2011 YEAR of the FIG- They Draw & Cook Recipe Contest. The competition included over 140 beautiful tasty designs, submitted by talented food illustrators from all over the world.
In the California Dried Fig Category, the first place illustration was created by Jessica Pollak, Providence, RI for her unique Oatmeal with Honeyed Figs. In second place, the honors went to Charrow, Brooklyn, NY for her deliciously healthy “Skinny Figgy Bars” while the third place prize went to Kaitlyn McCane, Philadelphia, PA for her tasty and creatively designed “California Fig Strawberry Jam.”
In the California Fresh Fig Category, the first place illustration goes to Tomek Giovanis, Athens, Greece for his artfully designed Rigatoni with Figs and Curry. In second place, Sofia Lourenco from Lisbon, Portugal elegantly illustrated California Fresh Fig Salsa with Grilled Lamb Chops. Third place went to an innovative recipe submitted by Jessica Rae Gordon, Toronto, Ontario, Canada for her Fig and Grape Shake.
